PhD Students
We take an individual approach to PhD training that focuses on skills and personal development from student to researcher (see Uli's interview on PhD training). As with Postdocs, we try to make sure this leads to productive careers tailored to the individual strengths and personal aspirations of our students. The group is proud of its 100% success rate in leading all of our PhDs to graduation, with everyone publishing their work and finding employment in diverse roles including education, research, industry and policy, often securing positions before graduating.

There are different ways for prospective PhD students to join the group, including our Centre for Doctoral Training, University studentships, externally funded projects and scholarships.

If you are interested in undertaking doctoral research within the group contact Uli to discuss options. International applicants should also check their fee status with the University of Bath.

Undergraduate Students
We always like to hear from motivated undergraduate students who are interested in gaining research experience. Opportunities for project work and summer placements are frequently available, both for local students and external visitors. Get in touch with Uli to find out more.
